Art + Math at The CAEA Conference

Another great presentation at the Colorado Art Education Association Fall Conference in Breckenridge.  This is a multi-media presentation on how to combine Math and Art into a curriculum.  Left to right, Graland Math teacher Nanette Newman and Graland Art teachers Cathy Naughton, Andrean Andrus and Andrea Crane.

This workshop was a hit with the crowd and inspired some of the attending educators to create similar applications in their Art programs.

I'm Giving All A's

This was my entry for the Colorado Art Education Educators' Show.  It was my protest in neon about having to give my students a grade for their work in my Art class.  Every child who tries their best deserves an "A" even if their work isn't suitable for an art gallery.

Behind the A's are the B's, C's and D's that administrators expect from time to time and they will not see the light of day...they remain dark.  The title of this work is, "I'm not giving grades anymore, I'm giving all A's."

Sculpture from the Art Room

My sculpture for the Art Instutute of Colorado, Colorado Art Educators's Art Show, 2016:

Colorado Girl Wonders Where in the World to Travel Next.

It's a full size mannequin on a full size chair, both covered with pieces of maps.  The chair has map pieces of the world, the model has pieces of a map of Colorado.
